Blog Post Assignment #1

About Me
My name is Stacy Smith. I graduated from Raleigh High School in 1989. Yes, if you are counting that was 23 years ago. After graduating high school I attended Jones County Junior College for 2+ years. During my 2 years at JCJC I had 3 majors because I couldn't decide on what I wanted to major in. While at JCJC I received a scholarship for playing cymbols in the band. I had not played cymbols before now. Being in the band allowed me the opportunity to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, perform in a New Orleans Saints half-time show, and many more exciting experiences. Two years ago I started taking classes at Alabama Southern Community College to finish up my Associate degree. This is my second semester at South and I hope to start my candidacy in the spring.
I have been married to my husband, Donovan, for 15 years. We have 3 wonderful children Bryce(13), Brady(11), and McKenzie(4). My children attend Leroy High School. GO BEARS! Bryce plays junior high baseball and Brady plays football. McKenzie loves to cheer so I look forward to watching her cheer sometime in the near future. I have been teaching at my church for the past 19 years. This experience helped me to realize that I wanted to become a teacher. I have also been substitute teaching for the past 5 years. I love to be around children and to see them learn. It has been through my teaching at church and school that I have realized my passion for children and my love for them. I want to make a difference in their lives. I also love Alabama football and softball. ROLL TIDE! Can't wait for next Saturday. Most importantly I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I love the fact the he loves me despite the fact that I make mistakes every single day of my life.

Randy Pausch on Time Management
In Pausch's video he first starts off by comparing time management to money management and how people are unable to see how the two are very much alike. Pausch states that goals, priorities, and planning are 3 things that are key to effective time management. Setting goals, sticking to priorities, and making to do lists can be helpful in managing our time. Pausch also mentions that we should take whatever assignment or task that we like least and do it first. He also states that stress and procrastination are 2 of our biggest problems. Even though we are all given the same amount of time each day some people are able to get their work completed while others are not. Each person has to find out what works best for them in order to manage their time.
